This project involved major renovation of a 50-year-old bungalow in an inner-city neighborhood. Exterior improvements included removal of a non-functioning solar heating system, plus the addition of a new uptairs balcony, front porch, driveway, rear deck and garage with built-in storage. Inside, a small TV room and closets were transformed into a spacious den and sun room opening onto to a deck and field stone patio. Downstairs closets and ventilation were reconfigured, a kitchen closet was changed into a laundry room, and new lighting throughout was added throughout. Upstairs, the master bath was expanded and remodeled, utilizing granite, slate, glass block and cherry wood finishes. The roof line was modified to allow larger windows in the master bedroom, expansion of the husband's home office, and a new office for the wife, with access to the new front balcony. The owners utilized a color consultant who developed a unique southwestern palette for the interior and exterior.
