This former "fishin' shack" was completely transformed on the inside to created a weekend getaway home on the Bay. An oppressive wooden ceiling was removed to reveal the open wood structure. Hollophane-style pendant lights provide both downlight and uplight that bring out the rich wood colors and volume. The old ceiling wood was used as the new interior wall finish for the exterior walls. All new double-glazed Low E windows and French doors were installed on the bay side to accent the wonderful views. Layers of linoleum were painstakingly removed to reveal a rich pine floor, which was lightly sanded and given a clear finish. A bathroom was remodeled, and relocated to open up views from the master bedroom. It uses corrugated metal wall and incorporates the cast iron kitchen sink top from the original home. The kitchen is integrated into the overall one-room living space with components from Ikea, including a butcher block countertop.
